Dr. Amarakoon received her first degree in Industrial Management at the University of Kelaniya in 2005. She joined the department in 2007, after getting the work experience in the corporate world for a short period both in India and Sri Lanka. She has also completed her Master in Business Administration in Human Resource Management degree at the University of Colombo. She recently completed her doctoral studies in strategic human resource management from The University of Queensland, Australia.
Dr. Amarakoon has won many awards including The University of Queensland Deans Award for her outstanding Doctoral Thesis. She is interested in sharing her knowledge on how firms can utilize HRM innovation for competitive advantage.
